I called my last employer because i realized i never received my last paycheck. they told me I'd have to come into the office. next, i was riding with this young woman and her 2 to 3 kids--all boys. as we traveled down a familiar road, it was bumpy and she slowed the car over these bumps to prevent damage. I remember feeling i trusted her driving because she was aware and paying attention. once we got to our destination, my last job before transitioning into working for myself full time, i went inside to report my change of address so they could send my last paycheck that i never received. once inside, everyone remembered me, especially when i told the clerk my name. i remembered thinking they were acting rather formal and reserved, but not mean, but not warm either. somehow, a king sized bedframe with a mattress on top was how we traveled to the location and one of the bed rails collapsed in the middle. the children became loud and people were staring and wondering how they could laugh and play through it all without their mother, the driver, losing it. she didnt see a problem with their behavior because they were simply being kids, but the formality of the environment dictated that everyone act similarly so as not to make others uncomfortable. there was one man that asked them to go outside. I remembered feeling like people were likely going to talk about me when i left because the rambunctious kids and their mom were with me. I held my head high and the clerk said, here's your check, which had been sitting all this time over about a year. I college Ted my payment and remembered feeling a little stressed because i remembered the transportation, the king bed, had broken down. as we walked outside to handle the situation, a man who seemed like a security guard with a calming, authoritative presence, gave us pointers about how to fix the breakdown and go on about our way. suddenly, im in a new home with my daughter figuring out how to organize the closet space using several clothing racks in a room i turned into a closet. I remembered a woman showing up who seemed like a realtor and I told her I would like the basement to have a concrete floor versus the dirt floor i was witnessing. she said she would "ask the owner" and said he'd likely oblige to my changes. the woman felt a little shady to me because I realize she was secretly comparing herself to me and I realized "oh, this is my old boss from my last job."
This dream appears to be a complex tapestry of past experiences, emotional insights, and future aspirations. Let's break it down step by step:
Unpaid paycheck and journey: The dream begins with an unresolved issue from your last job, which could symbolize unfinished business or lingering emotions related to your previous employment. The act of traveling with the young woman and her children symbolizes a transition or journey in your life. The bumpy road suggests that this transition hasn't been smooth, but the trust you place in the driver reflects your confidence in navigating these challenges.
Familiarity and formality at the office: Upon arriving at your old place of work, the reaction of your colleagues indicates mixed emotions—a blend of recognition and distance. This could symbolize your feelings about leaving your old job: familiar ties mixed with a sense of detachment. The formality you sensed may reflect your perception that work environments are often about maintaining a certain decorum or expectations, contrasting with your current path of self-employment where freedom and creativity might play larger roles.
King-sized bed transportation: Traveling on a bedframe might symbolize comfort, rest, or a foundation, which paradoxically breaks down. This suggests potential concerns about the stability of new ventures or changes. The children’s unmanaged yet innocuous behavior causing attention also highlights how breaking societal norms can bring judgment, yet it is 'the children being children'—it reflects how others might see your unconventional steps.
Security and resolution: The security guard’s assistance represents external guidance and authority figures in your current life journey, helping address and fix issues allowing you to move forward. It's a reassuring presence indicating that help is available when you're met with obstacles.
New home and organization: The transition to a new home with your daughter speaks to a new phase in your life, emphasizing self-reliance and aspirations. Turning a room into a closet indicates desire for organization and comfort in personal life or possibly your business endeavors.
Realtor and basement changes: The woman’s presence, her comparison to you, and later revealing herself as the former boss reveals unresolved comparisons and feelings of judgment from your old job. The transformation of space (dirt to concrete) represents the desire for stability and permanence in your foundation. It shows a longing for changes that solidify your new ventures or personal growth.
Overall, this dream seems to capture a narrative of transition, self-discovery, and aspirations intertwined with remnants of past experiences and feelings. The children, the bed, the new home all symbolize foundational aspects of your current journey—reflective of handling consequences of past decisions while reshaping your present into a more stable and satisfying future.
